We want you to Holiday in Boat of Garten, Scotland

Boat of Garten is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and is 6 miles from Aviemore and 27 miles from Inverness

We have a fine Golf Course and excellent fishing in the river Spey.  The village is home to the Strathspey Steam Railway and the Ospreys at the RSPB reserve at Loch Garten.

People come here for so many reasons but most of our visitors have a love of the outdoors and the natural beauty of the area.

For more years than we care to remember,  the people of Boat of Garten have been welcoming holiday makers.  Most of the businesses in the village  are owned and run by local people who live and work here so your support means a great deal to them.  They will appreciate your cash much more than Tescos will.

Shops and Places to Eat

The Village Shop and Post Office is owned and run by David and Beth Woolsey.  It opens at 7am and sells a good variety of quality fresh food.  David is a bit of a foodie so you are sure to find some tasty bites. It is about a 30 second walk from our gate.

Dow’s Store is owned and run by Sue and David Dow and their son Fraser. They sell a wide variety of food and hardware and also have a cafe. Ideal for breakfast.

Anderson’s Restaurant is very popular to locals and visitors alike. Steve Anderson lives in the village with his family and serves up the best food in the area. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. Worth booking if you plan to visit.
